Where did 15 years go? Towards joyful memories, impactful work, and strong relationships with amazing clients.
This anniversary gave us the chance to look back at old photos, successful projects, and our impact. And it has us looking forward to the future we’re building together.
It’s been a joy getting to revisit some of our favorite Opus memories. We’re even more excited to share them with you.

A good foundation, in more ways than one
When Julia founded Opus, she set out to bring great design to companies doing good in the world. That ethos served as more than the foundation of the company: it serves as the fuel for everything we do.

Building the dream team
Lily Robles, Julia’s mentor, joined Opus just a year in. She helped make joy and social impact key parts of our work, which is still foundational to everything we do.

Outgrowing our old space
As our ambitions grew, so did our need for a space to call our own. So we found a sweet spot in Brighton on Chestnut Hill Ave where we could gather our people and supercharge our creativity.

The end-of-year sweet spot
We’ve never been afraid to get our hands dirty.
Back in the day, we used to make chocolates as an end-of-year gift to clients. It was messy. It was time-consuming. And with fun flavors like lime margarita, it was delicious.

Small steps towards a larger team
In 2014, our team grew from four to five people–25% growth! 📈
Okay, we were still small. But with our new talent, we became so much mightier.

Developing our web practice
Web design and development are a match made in heaven. In 2015, we finally married the two by bringing on our first in-house web developer. 🍾

The business of equity
Winning the MA Women’s Business of the Year award was a huge victory for Opus. Not just because of the award itself but what it meant: that our hard work was being recognized and celebrated.

Lucky to be learning together
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Unless it’s the great insights and even better memories from Adobe MAX, which we captured and leveraged to create great work for our clients.

Hitting the slopes
For some of us, getting onto the slopes for our annual skiing trip meant getting out of our comfort zones. Other activities–— like snow-shoeing and gloving—provided new challenges for others and memories that still make us smile. The jalapeño margaritas didn’t hurt either.

Certifiably good business
Opus has always been about sustainable action and helping mission-driven companies do good and do well. Our B-Corp Certification in 2019 just made it official.

Cooking up new memories
Many of our clients are in food & beverage, which is a dream because we’re foodies ourselves. Even outside of work, we love doing cooking classes and building new skills. Nothing more nourishing than learning together.

Modeling the next phase of Opus
COVID’s impact led to big changes in 2021, pushing us to find new ways to stay connected. We switched to a hybrid model. We got used to being Zoom-ready. And we kicked off our beloved bi-monthly onsites the following January.

Going beyond client service
Serving our community is just as important as serving clients. We’re proud of our work with Keep Mass Beautiful, where we cleaned up around the Chestnut Hill Reservoir and Crane Beach.

Fun + function
We work well together, and we think it’s because we play well together. Whether it’s trivia, board games, or escape rooms, we find that a little healthy competition fuels our friendships and drives our creativity.

The client count
How have we served nearly 600 clients?! The same way we do everything: with creativity, care, and curiosity.

The time of our lives
How do we feel 15 years in? Wiser. More confident. More productive. But most importantly, we feel grateful to our clients. When we create with purpose, we’re all creating a better world.
Thank you for your trust and partnership for the past 15 years. It’s been a joy and honor to work with such amazing clients. We can’t help but look forward to the future knowing that we’ll get to shape it together.
